1849 Energy Partners is based in Fort Worth, Texas and was formed in January 2017.

1849’s management team has a proven track record of value creation in multiple basins. 1849’s strategy is to employ outstanding people and processes that  are continually focused on maximizing returns in low-risk, high-quality assets.

Management

Bruce BradenPresident (Advisory)
Co-founded F2 Oilfield Services in 2012 and NEOK Production Co. in 2007 which are still in operation.

Co-founded Braden Exploration, LLC in 2006 which sold to EnerVest in 2011 and co-founded Stroud Energy, Inc. which sold to Range Resources in 2006. Stroud Energy, Inc. was a predecessor of Stroud Oil Properties which Bruce co-founded in 1985.

Co-founded Pinnacle Technologies, Inc. in 1994 which sold to CarboCeramics in 2005.

Worked as an independent C.P.A. from 1973 to 1985.

Bruce earned a B.A. from Stanford University and a graduate degree in Tax from Golden Gate University.

U.S. Army veteran from 1968 to 1971, awarded the Bronze Star for Service.

Bruce currently serves on the Board of Trustees for several organizations including Golden Gate University, Marin General Hospital Foundation and the Smuin Contemporary Ballet/San Francisco (currently serving as President).

Bruce also provides funding for the Braden Diabetes Center at Marin General Hospital and the Stanford Storytelling Project.

Tony GardnerVice President - Operations
Served as Vice President – Operations of Trinity River Energy, LLC/Legend Natural Gas, LLC from February 2013 to May 2016. Responsible for operations engineering, field operations and supervision of operational staff for North Texas, South Texas, New Mexico, North Louisiana and Mississippi asset areas.

In 2006, Tony co-founded Braden Exploration with Bruce Braden. In this capacity, Mr. Gardner, was a Partner and Vice President of Operations where he managed the drilling, completion and production operations until the company’s sale to EnerVest in 2011.

Prior to Braden Exploration, LLC, Tony was the Operations Manager for Stroud Energy from 2001 – 2006 until its sale to Range Resources.

Tony has over 35 years of operations experience in the oil and gas industry beginning his career with Champlin Petroleum/Union Pacific Resources in 1981. Mr. Gardner’s operational experience during this time included northwestern Oklahoma, Gulf of Mexico and Brookeland Field (East Texas). Subsequently, he managed greenfield start-up operations in Masters Creek (Central Louisiana) and Ruston Field (North Louisiana) for Union Pacific Resources/Anadarko.

Mark HolcombVice President - Engineering
Served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Trinity River Energy, LLC/Legend Natural Gas, LLC from April 2013 to May 2016. Responsible for the Engineering, Operations, Corporate Development, Marketing and Geology Departments.

Prior to his position with Trinity River Energy, LLC/Legend Natural Gas, LLC, Mark was a partner and the Vice President of Operations for Crimson Energy Partners, L.P. (Crimson II) and Crimson Energy Partners III, L.L.C. (Crimson III), which included experience in engineering, operations, property evaluation, marketing, finance and accounting. Mark also served as Engineering Manager with Crimson Energy Company, L.P. (Crimson I).

Mark began his career with Union Pacific Resources, in various roles including drilling, production and business development.

Mark earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a M.B.A. from Texas Christian University.

Aaron ThesmanVice President - Land and General Counsel
Served as Senior Vice President – Land and General Counsel of Trinity River Energy, LLC from October 2014 to May 2016. Responsible for the Legal, Land, Administration and HSE/Regulatory Departments. Prior to this position, Aaron served as Vice President of Land and Legal for Legend Natural Gas, LLC from September 2013 to September 2014 and as Vice President of Land from April 2013 to September 2013.

Prior to his position with Trinity River Energy, LLC/Legend Natural Gas, LLC, Aaron was a partner and Vice President of Land and Legal for Crimson Energy Partners, L.P. (Crimson II) and Crimson Energy Partners III, L.L.C. (Crimson III), which included experience in land, legal, regulatory, marketing, risk management and human resources. Aaron served as a Board Member for Crimson III.

Earlier in his career, Aaron practiced law with Hiersche, Hayward, Drakeley & Urbach, P.C. of Dallas, Texas. He was also previously employed by Union Pacific Resources in its Legal and Government Relations Departments.

Aaron earned a B.A. from Oklahoma State University and a J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He is licensed to practice law in Texas and Oklahoma.

Aaron recently served two terms on the Oil and Gas Advisory Board for the City of Lewisville, Texas and is a graduate of the 2017 Leadership Fort Worth class.

Dan EmmerVice President - Geoscience
Served as Vice President – Geoscience of Trinity River Energy, LLC/Legend Natural Gas, LLC from October 2013 to January 2017. Responsible for Geology and Geophysics and technical integration with most other departments.

Prior to his position with Trinity River Energy, LLC/Legend Natural Gas, LLC, Dan was Vice President of Geoscience for Wagner Oil Company with a lead role on the management team.

Dan started his career with Mobil Oil and subsequently worked for Union Pacific Resources, Magnum Hunter Resources and Energy Resource Technology (formerly Remington Oil and Gas) serving as Offshore Exploration & Development Manager for the latter two companies.

Dan has over 28 years of experience as a geoscientist and manager working exploration, exploitation and development in numerous onshore basins and the offshore Gulf of Mexico developing both conventional and unconventional plays.

Dan earned a Bachelor of Science in Geophysical Engineering with a minor in Geology and a Master of Science in Geophysics, all from the Colorado School of Mines.
